Error description

  • Abstract:
ITEV5CV5 : CCP LINK BETWEEN TWO CATPARTS
IS BROKEN IF THEY ARE SENT TO CATIA IN A
    SPECIFIC SEQUENCE
    Scenario:
Two parts have been created in Catia and saved to
    Enovia (Part1 and Part2). Part2 has a linked
surface copied from Part1. The copy procedure
created a CCP link (not a context link).
Problem: If part2 is sent to Catia before Part1,
geometry link is broken. (often occurs when multi
selecting). User will not be able to see if link needs
to be syncronized and user can not activate the link
    in this stage.
    1. In Enovia LCA V5 R12 SP6:
    2. Create PRC.
    3. Open PRC in Product Editor.
    4. Send PPC to Catia V5.
    5. Create a detailed part (Part1).
    6. Create a surface in Part1.
    7. Create a new part (Part2).
    8. Activate Part1.
    9. Copy the surface in Part1.
    10. Right click on Part2 and select "open in new
    window" (in Part2.1 Object menu).
    11. In the new window: Paste the surface using
    paste special, AsResultWithLink (CCP link
    established).
    12. Close the new window (press no when asked if
    save the modification).
    13. Save to Enovia.
    14. Close window in Catia.
    15. Send Part2 to Catia (important to send out
    Part2 before Part1).
    16. Send Part1 to Catia.
    17. Activate Part2 and select Links.. in Edit menu.
Result: The status of CCP link to Part1
is "Reference not found". This is a problem.
Expected result: The staus should be "OK" or "Not
    synchronized".
    18. Close the assembly in Catia.
    19. From Enovia. send Part1 to Catia (important to
    send out Part1 before Part2).
    20. Send Part2 to Catia.
    21. Activate Part2 and select Links.. in Edit menu.
Result: The status of CCP link to Part1 is now "OK".

Comments

  • THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON :
    ENOVIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 12.
THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON :
ENOVIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 14 GA level AND ON
    V5R13SP05.
    Incident Diagnosis:
CATIA is unable to reconnect the link between two
parts if the pasted part is loaded first.
    Answer and By-Pass on V5R12:
Load firstly the copied part on V5R12. This problem
is already corrected and unreproducible due to New
