• Scenario :
  Start CATIA V5R12SP2
  1. File open the provided CUST4983.CATPart
  2. Change Workbench to "GSD".
  3. Click "Extrapolate" icon.
  => "Extrapolate Definition" panel is displayed.
  4. The definition of "Extrapolate Definition" is
  performed as follows.
  Boundary:
  Select Internal edge in "Surface.1".

  Extrapolated:
  Select "Surface.2".
  ====> CATIA become ABEND.
  It is a problem.

  CATIA should not ABEND by "Extrapolate".
  Element should be created by "Extrapolate".

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 14 GA level.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R12SP07 AND V5R13SP04.

  Incident Diagnosis
  Coredump occurs when trying to do an
  extrapolation of a surface.
  .
  Correction Explanation
  When the extrapolation is asked, a Parameter is
  computed for the 3D parameter. The
  representation of this parameter was badly
  computed (Bounding element) and the whole
  visualization in CATIA failed and the coredump
  appears in the visualization of the
  WorkOnSupport3D.

  No possible by-pass but the problem is fixed now
  .
