HD10350: DEFECT OF POINT CREATION IN 'LINE DEFINITION' COMMAND

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • SCENARIO:
    1. Open / File to read the provided CATPart
    Change Workbench to 'Generative Shape Design'.
    2. Activate 'Line' command. Then 'Line Definition'
    dialogue box is displayed.
    3. Change the definition:
    Line type: Angle/Normal to curve
    Curve: 3D Curve.1
    Support: Default (Plane)
    4. In 'Point' definition area, select 'Create Point'
    with MB3.
    => 'Point Definition' dialogue box is displayed.
    5. Change the definition of point.
    Point type: On curve
    Curve: 3D Curve.1
    Distance to reference: press 'Middle point' button.
    Then press 'OK'
    6. Back to the 'Line Definition' dialogue box, no
    point is created in 'Point' area.
    => Still 'No selection' at 'Point' definition area.
    => This is a problem.

    The point must be created at the middle of the '3D
    Curve.1'. and this point must be defined in 'Point'
    definition area.

Problem summary

  • Defect of point creation in 'Line Definition' command

    Correction Explanation :
    The transition is line dialogue was not handled correctly.
    .
    Answer and By-Pass :
    The point created with a second dialogue bow displays correctly
     in the original Line Definition box.
    The problem is fixed now.
