HD09884: ASSEMBLY ANALYSIS FROM CATIA V5R10 DOES NOT SOLVE IN V5R11

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Scenario:
  A simple two part assembly model that successfully
  solves in GAS in CATI
  A V5R10 does not solve in V5R11. Material was
  previously applied to the
  two parts in V5R10.
  Steps to recreate problem:
  1.) Apply assembly contact constraint between the
  two parts in Assembly
  WB.
  2.) Start GPS WB and fasten the parts by picking
  the the assembly contac
  t constraint in the spec tree.
  3.) Clamp one part and apply a load on the other
  part.
  4.) Compute
  Error message appears in window titled "Error"
  stating:
  Wrong number of values
  Wrong number of characteristic values
  Characteristic: 1 Mater: 1
  Values in call: 1
  values stored: 0
  
  Another error message is:
  Unknown characteristic
  Characteristic: 1 does not exist for mater: 1
  Unable to extract characteristic values

  Incident Diagnosis
  Assembly analysis from CATIA V5R10 does not solve in V5R11
  
  Correction Explanation
  Since R11 no ":" or "!" character is allowed in part names. It
  leads to errors if publications or constraints are used.
  Now a message appears if you want to use such characters.
  
  Answer and By-Pass
  Rename parts and recreate analysis properties.
  
  Then computation is done normally.
