Error description

  • Invalid "Table from CSV" file created in a Drawing
    Scenario:
    1) Start Drafting workbench and create a new empty drawing
    2) Create a New View on the default Sheet
    3) Select the command "Table from CSV"
    4) Select the provided file
    5) Select a point in the view
    Result:
The table is created but with only one column. The expected
table should be composed of 7 columns, in this example.
Note 1: You can choose any .csv file provided in Catia
Documentation, the result is the same (ex: Screws.csv)
Note 2: In V5R10-SP1, the created table is also wrong.

The real scenario of this problem after checking with customer
    is:
    - Machine language is French.
    - CSV file is created using MS Excel with 7 columns.
    - When read in CATIA using Table from CSV command of Drafting,
there is only one column. Fields are not separated and semi-

Comments

  • THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON :
        CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 9
    .
THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON :
CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 11 GA level AND ON V5R10SP04.

     REASON:
This problem is valid on V5R9 but no more on V5R10 and V5R11.
Now, on V5R10 and V5R11, if the machine is in french or german,
the column separator used in CATIA is the semi-column and if
the language is English the separator will be the comma.
There should be the same behavior between CATIA and Excel
    regarding column separtors.
    .
     BY-PASS on V5R9:
On V5R9, the by-pass to the problem is to replace manually the
    semi-column by comma.
