Error description
TEAM PDM: CATIA Viewer .cgm not updating upon release OR CHECK-OUT Scenario: 1.Prior to starting. Map Revision attribute in Smarteam to Revision in CATIA Drawing. Also set revision to start at a.0 and not blank in sequence designer 2.Create new CATIA Drawing 3.File Save and name drawing 4.Then Smarteam Save creates metadata for drawing and sheet. Can also now view the CATIA Drawing using the Smart IE Viewer in Smarteam 5.Revision has not been updated yet in titleblock 6.Do Load properties from Database in CATIA via Team PDM menu and now Titleblock shows Revision "a.0" 7.Do another Team PDM save and check-in. a.If I view the drawing in Smarteam it shows the a.0 revision in the viewer 8.Now edit & checkout the drawing so revision goes to a.1 a.Drawing opens in CATIA and Revision parameter in title block says a.1 b.If I view the drawing in Smarteam it still shows the old revision a.0 c.Do a Team PDM/Properties/Save in Data Base d.Now view in Smarteam again. CGM file is now updated and viewer now shows the a.1 revision 9.From Team PDM menu release the drawing and hit ok to all prompts a.Drawing gets moved to release vault and released at revision a b.View the drawing in Smarteam it still shows the revision as being a.1 and not a c.Do a File Operation View from Smarteam and launch the drawing in CATIA in read only mode. The title block shows Revision parameter at revision a which is correct 10.This is very confusing for the end user. The meta data on the profile card says a drawing is released and at revision 'a' The actual CATIA drawing also shows that its at revision 'a' if its viewed in CATIA. (File operation -> View from Smarteam) However, the .cgm file which the viewer is using does not get updated upon release. It seems like .cgm only gets updated on a Team PDM save operation from point 8 above. On a release operation Smarteam updates the title block i.e. loads the properties, but seems like a Smarteam save operation is not done after that event. This needs to be done to avoid the inconsistency in the different views.

THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON : CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 8 . THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON : CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 11 GA level AND ON V5R10 SP05 COMMENT: This problem is actually unreproducible on any level of R10 ( for the problem on release) but you've to be in expose mode=false and use the scripts RevisionBlock and titleblock which are specific to this mode.
