Error description

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
It is impossible to delete a material, even if the only
property that usethe material has been deleted and no loads or
    boundary conditions has been defined.
To cuboids are created. The xxx/ NASTRAN V70 solver is used.
    The cuboids are meshed.
One with white elements and one with blue elements.
Two materials are created, named WHITE and BLUE.
Here the model is saved, this is the state you get it in.
In the step by step scenario below the idea is to apply the
material WHITE to the white elements and the material
BLUE to the blue elements, then delete the property on the white
elements and finally try to delete the material WHITE.
This does not work but we really need it to work.
The APAR NUMBER: HC53183 ABSTRACT: UNABLE TO DELETE UNUSED
MATERIAL IN ANPHYSIC that describe the same kind of problem
    doesn't solve our problem.
    .
    STEP BY STEP SENARIO:
    1. Read the model
    2. ANPHYSIC/PROPERTY/CREATE/DATA
    3. For ELEMENT select tetraeder shape - CTETRA - PSOLID and for
    CHARACTERISTICS select MID -> WHITE
    4. YES
    5. For AREA select TOPOLOGY - FAMILY
    6. Select the left family (who's elements are white, even when
    not in PROPERTY function)
    7. Repeat step 2 to 6 (MID -> BLUE) and select the right family
(whose elements are blue, when not in PROPERTY function)
    8. ANPHYSIC/PROPERTY/DELETE. Select the left (white elements)
    9. ANPHYSIC/MATERIAL/DELETE. Select the material WHITE
    10. YES Message: MATERIAL WHITE CAN'T BE DELETED
BECAUSE USED FOR PROPERTY , RESTRAINT OR LOAD
    DEFINITION
(Obviously this is not true, it is not used and should be
    possible to delete)

Comments

  • REASON:
The TASS mode for the cleaner only works when the elements
are also deleted from the model.
In this case, you must delete the elements related to the
    properties and the material.
This specification is needed to avoid some bad impacts on
    the cleaner behaviour.
