Local fix
Problem summary
INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS: In order to create the sweep, the system checks that the support of Edge (selected as Guiding Curve ) is up to date => this is not the case. .
Problem conclusion
THIS MODIFICATION WILL BE INCLUDED IN CATIA DOCUMENTATION DELIVERED WITH CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 4 . The Solid.1 ResultOUT of Pad.2 and Support of BrepElement is not up to date . Analysis: Starting part document : WireframeAndSurface-GettingS 1- What happens: In order to create the Sweep, the edge of Pad is selected with the Guiding curve. A BRep feature is the created, which support is the Sweep of Pad.2. Then the system checks that the solid is updated is not the case. . 2- Why is the solid not up to date? for the part created with v5r2, the MechanicalTool (in particular Body.1 in WireframeAndSurface-GettingStarted were not fully updated, except the Part Body. As a matter of fact, the attribute ResultOUT of the MechanicalTool and its value Solid.1 of Pad .2 are not updated. But the overall status of the Part does not reflect this. . In V5R3, this problem is partially fixed. From nove on, at the end of each Update of MechanicalTool, the attribute ResultOUT and its value are updated . BY-PASS: In order to fix the CATPart, - use force update or make any modification in the Part as this will re-run the Update and save the part. . DOCUMENTATION REFERENCE: MANUAL ===> CATIA Wireframe & Surface Design User's Guide CHAPTER ===> Getting Started CHAPTER ===> Creating Two Swept Surfaces PAGE ===> xx MODIFICATION: The model has been delivered on CATIA Version 5 Release 4 level. The Getting Started scenario can now be replayed as such. . Note that the sketches have been hidden to facilitate user selection. .
