HC45012: ERROR SEARCH FAILED ERROR WHEN BSF PART/NUMBER IS DEFINED SEQUENTIALLY

Error description

• Impossibility to give BSF part number sequentially.
  Error search failed error message returned.

  RJ1RFPN file in the e3dsimu contains for example the following :
    GAINE 15-20                         DIAMETER   20.0
    GAINE 10-15                         DIAMETER   15.0
    SCOTCH 1.0MM                        THICKNES    1.0
    SCOTCH 2.0MM                        THICKNES    2.0
  .
  SCENARIO :
  --------
  1. E3INSTAL/CREATE/BNL SURF will show the part number
  2. Select a bundle and select a part number from the window.
     (e.g., GAINE 10-15  ==> the diameter automatically becomes
     15 mm)
  3. KEY DIST 1, 2   ==> e.g. 10,20
     ENTER
     > RESULT : BSF is created with the part number.
  4. Select another BSF
     > RESULT : Error Search Failed : BSF can not be created
                sequentially if part number is granted.
  5. But without RJ1RFPN, e.g. rename it temporalily to
     inactivate it,
     > RESULT : BSF can be created sequentially without the
                error msg.
  .
  EXPECTED RESULT : with RJ1RFPN activated, user should be able
                    to create BSF sequentially.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• It is impossible to give BSF partnumber
  sequentially with previous 420 version.
  The panel technology does not allow this
  capability.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA
  
  The panel technology has changed between 419
  and 420 and the trouble is fixed in upper version.
  This has too much impact to relroute this
  capability at 419R1 level.
  In the meantime you use the most recent versions,
  you can implement the following BY-PASS :
  .
  After you have created the first BSF, select
  the article EXTREMITY (or LENGTH) then the BNS
  and finally the new BSF you want to create.
  By following this sequence (one extra step),
  you will no more encounter the error search failed
  and will succeed in creating BSF sequentially.
