Error description

  • ABSTRACT: PS value is incorrectly in hpgl2 data

Prob: PS value is incorrectly in hpgl2 data.
    Operation:
     1. FK FILE / CREATE / XY /
     2. YES
     3. FK PLOT / QUICK / CREATE /
     4. Select A4
     5. YES
     6. Yes
     7. FK PLOT / QUICK / PLOTTING / PRINT /
     8. EXECUTE

=> Plotting works fine, but PS value is incorrectly in hpgl2
        data.
    .
    Remark:
     - This problem does not depend on any models.
     - If use dscan as plotter, this problem can work around.
( dscan can ignore ps value in hpgl2 data, and can
          re-caluculate plotter size by itself.)
     - The customer would like to use hpgl2 data by xerox.
    .
    1. XEROX4036 is A0 PLOTTER with Roll-Feed media.
    2. About PS value.
       Create a window with 841*1189 .
       The value of HPGL2 output was 1189+a * 1189+a .
       (a: CATIA margin)
The A0 plotter can not print more than 841+MARGIN.
It seemed that the matter began to occur due to
       1189+a*1189+a.
    3. User didn t use the Rotate option with FK PLOT

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The PS order gives a length equal to the width . If the
sheet size has a width greater than the length and if the sheet
is not rotated inside the PLOT Function , the output file to
be printed will be cut off / clipped.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON
CATIA VERSION 4 RELEASE 2.1 REFRESH 1 GA level (FREL421R1)

To get the length and the width corresponding to the sheet
sizes , you have to use the following keyword *ROT in
the plotter configuration file setting to a special value
    How to use it :
    Key in : *ROT 999 .
When the *ROT keyword is initialize to 999 , the
hpgl2 driver takes into account the values XMAX
and YMAX of the *SIZE keyword to manage the auto
             rotate .
It means that the *SIZE keyword must be initialized
with the physical values of the media
