ANS0361I DIAG: Error reading http request

An IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client logs several ANS0361I errors while no backup operation is running.

Tip: Beginning with Version 7.1.3, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager is now IBM Spectrum Protect. Some applications such as the software fulfillment systems and IBM License Metric Tool use the new product name. However, the software and its product documentation continue to use the Tivoli Storage Manager product name. To learn more about the rebranding transition, see technote 1963634.

The client dsmerror.log file shows the following error:

ANS0361I DIAG: Error reading http request.
ANS0361I DIAG: isFileNameValid: Invalid file name <filename> - file type not allowed.

Resolving The Problem

This type of error can occur if a network application such as a security scan tool sends HTTP requests that the backup-archive client acceptor cannot handle. The client acceptor can receive valid HTTP requests from the remote client (the web client), but rejects requests from other sources as invalid.

If the client acceptor rejects a request from a source other than the remote client, the errors can be ignored.
