Alternating between CQM and JDBC data sources in the same Framework Manager model

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempting to use the same Framework Manager project for both dynamic query mode (DQM) and compatible query mode (CQM) packages works when the data source is DB2, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, or Teradata for which the DQM (JDBC) and CQM (ODBC or native client) connection information are shared on the same connection object defined in Cognos Administration, but errors occur when attempting to use a data source like Informix or MySQL for which there are separate connection types between DQM and CQM

Symptom

Within a CQM Framework Manager project, changing the Content Manager Data Source field to refer to a DQM data source, the following error occurs:

QFS-ERR-0138 The data source 'JDBC' is not supported by any provider.'

OR

When publishing the package, the option to publish in DQM is not available.
