Albd(<PID>): Warning: Request from host <IP> for server <UUID>@<VOB(or VIEW)_path> with wrong path <VOB(or View)_path>

Troubleshooting


Problem

This technote explains why the warning message, []Albd(): Warning: Request from host for server @ with wrong path [], might be reported in the IBM® Rational® ClearCase® albd_server log on the registry server.

Symptom

In the albd_server log on the ClearCase Registry server, there is an ALBD warning stating that one of the VOB/view processes cannot be found in the expected location.

Errors in the log are similar to the following:

Albd(476): Warning: Request from host 1.21.123.1:3773 for server ab8d9ece.b7e84850.985e.6f:26:de:24:ea:3f@'c:\ClearCase_Storage\VOBs\test.vbs' with wrong path 'C:\ClearCase_Storage\VOBs\test.vbs

No other symptoms are apparent, and the VOB/view is working fine. A dbcheck (even if the warning is in regards to a VOB) of the VOB reported in the warning also returns no errors.
