Answer
Additional Rules for Automatic Carrier Selection
The following rules apply to using Automatic Carrier Selection:
- Automatic Carrier Selection is supported for sequential and broadcasttendering. It is not supported for manual tendering. You specify theTender Method when you define each Route Guide.
- You can define multiple route guide rules in each Route Guide. Sterling TMS processesthe rules sequentially starting with the first rule. As a best practiceshippers that use automatic carrier selection can define multipleroute guide rules:
- Define a primary rule that performs a sequential or broadcasttender using automatic carrier selection.
- Define a secondary rule for a manual tender. If no carriers acceptthe automatic sequential or broadcast tender you can manually tenderthe shipment to a single carrier.
- You cannot use the Auto-Carrier Selection process to tender toan off-line carrier which is a carrier that does not accept tendersfrom your organization in Sterling TMS.
