Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to add an ASCII type file with UTF-8 character encoding and byte order mark (BOM) in a Project results in removing the leading BOM codes (0xEF 0xBB 0xBF) when using IBM Rational Synergy.
Symptom
A development tool (for example: Microsoft Visual Studio ) integrated with Rational Synergy does not recognize the file.
