Adding a Route Itinerary Template Leg

About this task

Use the Add Route Itinerary Leg page to define one legof a route itinerary template.

Procedure

  1. Define the Origin and Destination of the leg:
    • The origin of the first leg can be either an area or a location.
    • The destination of the last leg can be either an area or a location.
    • All other origins and destinations must be a cross-dock location.
  2. Select the Mode such as Truckload Railor Ocean.
    Tip: You canset the Mode to Unassigned ifyou plan to always use the leg to carry unassigned orders.
  3. Optional: Define the carrier base cost transittime and equipment for this leg.
  4. Use the Create Leg as Shipment checkbox to specify whether Sterling TMS creates ashipment or order for this leg.
  5. Click Save to create the leg andreturn to the Add Route Itinerary Template page.
