IBM Support

Adding column to a table fails with SQL0886N RC=10.

Troubleshooting

Problem

"SQL0886N RC=10" is received when adding a column to table:

e.g.
$ db2 "ALTER TABLE ERPEX.REQU_MATERIAL_REQU_BILL ADD COLUMN PUR_BUDGET_STATUS VARCHAR(50)"
DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a
valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
SQL0668N Operation not allowed for reason code "10" on table
"ERPEX.REQU_MATERIAL_REQU_BILL". SQLSTATE=57016
