Summary
This document explains how can we use the BRMS GUI, to omit specific objects from a save
Steps
1- Open IBM Navigator for i and click on 'Backup recovery and Media Services'
2- Click on 'Backup Control Groups'
3- Check the box next to the desired Control Group
4- Right click, and then 'Properties'
5- Click on 'What' and then check the box next to the Save Item that will have omits
6- Click on the pop-up arrow next to the Save Item and then click on 'Change omits'
7- Add the items you want to omit and click on 'Add'
8- Once added you will see the omitted item listed at the bottom of the screen. Click OK and will return to the Control Group properties screen.
If you want to remove an omitted object, check the box for the omitted object you want to remove and then click on 'Remove'
The object is now removed. Click on 'OK ' to return to the Control Group properties screen.
On the green screen we can see we have GUI omits, by displaying the control group and then taking F14=Display client omit status
For a backup item with GUI omits, we will see:
