Activity recorded in YFS_USER_ACTIVITY table: Login and Logout process in Sterling MCF

Question & Answer

Question

Activity recorded in YFS_USER_ACTIVITY table: Login and Logout process in Sterling MCF

Answer

Whenever users login to Sterling MCF Application, login API is called which in turn calls registerLogin API.

In these two API calls, user id and password are validated and user is given a session which gets recorded in the YFS_USER_ACTIVITY table.

Now Sterling recommended log out process are,

a) The user logs out by clicking on the sign out button.

b) With a session timeout, the user is taken back to Sterling Login page.

Both these standard log out process would call registerLogout API which will remove the expired/previous session data of the user from the YFS_USER_ACTIVITY table.

Other logout processes are not recommended and would result in stale entries.

Note: If users are using external applications to log into Sterling systems then they need to custom call registerLogout API once user activity in Sterling session is over, after which they navigate back to external systems.
