Accessing Control Panel Functions Using IVM

Troubleshooting


Problem

This document shows how to access i5 partition control panel functions on Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) managed servers and blades. These functions may be required for tasks such as resetting iSeries Operations Console LAN (opcon LAN) device ID password (QCONSOLE), clearing the LAN console configuration (using 65+21), debugging the console type, forcing DST, and so on.

Resolving The Problem

This document shows how to access i5 partition control panel functions using Integrated Virtualization Manager.

These functions may be required for tasks such as resetting iSeries Operations Console LAN (opcon LAN) device ID password (QCONSOLE), clearing the LAN console configuration (using 65+21), debugging the console type, and so on.

To access Operator panel service functions, do the following:

1. Select view/Modify Partitions
2. Select the partition
3. Click ---- More Tasks ---
4. Select Operator panel service functions

Select the desired function and click OK.

View the reference code additional words by either:

1. Clicking the desired reference code hiperlink on the main View/Modify Partitions panel.

or

2. Selecting the partition -- more tasks --; then select reference codes.
