Problem
Attempts of the IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT) recorder to connect to an F5 environment result in "Your session could not be establshed" from the security server.
Symptom
The full error message is as follows. The session reference number: xxxxxxxx Access was denied by the access policy. This may be due to a failure to meet access policy requirements. If you are an administrator, please go to Access Policy >> Reports : All Sessions page and look up the session reference number displayed above. To open a new session, please click here.
Your session could not be established.
You can connect to the server, which requires a client certificate, manually. However, access is denied when recording with the RPT proxy recorder even though the client certificate is supplied.
From network traffic captures, you can observe that the RPT recorder does not send the certificate to the server.
