Shippers can use the CarrierConnect service in the IBM? SterlingTransportation Management System (Sterling TMS) to retrieveand review transit times for LTL carriers.
Shippers can use CarrierConnect to calculate and return transittimes for LTL shipments for each carrier. To use the SMC CarrierConnectproduct you must obtain a license from SMC (which is a trade namefor Southern Motor Carriers Freight Conference).
Sterling TMS also uses the SMC Rateware product to store LTL tariffs.You need to obtain a separate license from SMC to load the requiredLTL tariffs.
If you do not use SMC to obtain transit times you can also setup transit time tables in Sterling TMS to store transittimes by carrier lane or mode.
