ABEND A0A

Troubleshooting

Problem

"BASE PRT" leads to ABENDA0A

Resolving The Problem

If the DW/370 session language is set to a language other than US (using the SET LANGUAGE editor command, or the LANGUAGE option on the external DW370 invocation) printing to a GDDM driven printer may lead to an ABENDA0A, in this case the "BASE PRT" CLIST is invoked (via EXIT LDE option).

For languages other than US, DW/370 dynamically loads the error message table. CMS loads this table at X'20000'

The "BASE PRT" CLIST calls the GDDM module ADM4CDUV, which itself usually is loaded at X'20000'. ADM4CDUV overlays the DW/370 message table. This causes the ABENDA0A.
The solution is to generate ADM4CDUV into the CMS transient area using the following VM commands:

GLOBAL TXTLIB ADMGLIB
LOAD ADM4CDUV (ORIGIN TRANS
GENMOD ADM4CDUV
