Upgrade to firmware version 4.2.1a (or higher), and refer to the release notes accompanying it regarding the proper procedure for enabling the external ports.

Do not enable the external switch ports by using the Brocade management interface. This should only be done through the an IBM eServer BladeCenter Management Module interface.

The external ports of the Brocade Entry/Enterprise switches should be enabled by using the Management Module interface. Enabling the Enty/Enterprise through the Brocade management interface with version 4.2.1 firmware this will result in periodical resets.
