Change history

Version 1.04, AVE813B

Problem(s) Fixed:

  • Corrected a problem where incorrect power supply status could be sent to IBM Director when there was difficulty communicating with the power backplane controller possibly resulting in a false IBM Director power fault.
  • Improved the handling of invalid network data to prevent the network connection from hanging.
  • Corrected a problem where the DHCP lease does not get renewed when the DHCP server is not on the same subnet mask/network as the Remote Supervisor Adapter II
  • Corrected a problem that caused the Remote Supervisor Adapter II to not aquire a new DHCP IP address when the old IP address is lost
  • Corrected a caching problem that caused LDAP DNS look-ups to fail
  • Corrected the IP address reported in the Service Location Protocol data. When one of the "dot" fields is set to 0, the Remote Supervisor Adapter II previously reported the address field as "000" instead of just "0". IBM Director will not recognize IP addresses reported with multiple 0's ("000") in the fields.
  • Corrected a condition where the remote client console appeared to freeze when the servers was displaying constantly scrolling text.
  • Fixed Maximum Segment Size negotiation on the network interface.
  • Fixed the stuck key problem that occurs when using Ctl+Esc or Alt+Esc to switch between windows on a remote control client.
  • Corrected the media check failure that occurs when remotely attempting to install some versions of Red Hat Linux.
  • Fixed a newtork Time to Live problem that causes LDAP to fail when it goes through the list of pre-configured LDAP server names.
  • Corrected a problem that intermittently caused the Remote Supervisor Adapter II to not respond to SNMP requests if the Remote Supervisor Adapter II is sent multiple SNMP requests while being reset.
  • Corrected an SSL client problem that prevented the download of a Certificate Signing Request.
  • Fix the SNMP Set command to enable or disable TCP command mode.

Enhancement:

  • Added support for the year 2007 US Daylight Saving Time changes
  • Added a feature to lockout the command line interface for a period of time after 5 unsuccessful login attempts.
  • Added support for md2WithRSAEncryption certificates
  • Allow dashes in the LDAP ASM Group Filter Name
  • Added support to authenticate through LDAP using an account that has the display name and SAMAccount name set to different values.
  • Added French-Canadian keyboard support
  • Changed maximum size of login string from 32 to 64 to support longer UPN or DN names.
  • Allow dashes in the LDAP ASM Group Filter Name

Limitations:
Dependencies:

Version 1.03 - AVE811A

  • Ignore erroneous ISMP CPU over temperature alerts
  • Increased the time to live to 128 on all packets from the Remote Supervisor Adapter
  • Stopped generating the periodic SMIs used for Machine Check Architecture support.

Version 1.02

  • Added LDAP security fixes
  • Changed the remote disk port number from 4444 to 1044

Version 1.01

  • Fixed an issue where the remote control screen did not close

  • Fixed a problem with the ASM not detecting an analog modem connected to the serial port
  • Removed the dialback command from the supported command list
  • Fixed a problem with remote graphics over a PPP connection
  • Fixed a problem that caused the ASM to reset when the security link on the Web interface was clicked
  • Added support for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
  • Added remote disk multi-drive support
  • Added serial console redirection capability
