The BIOS Update enhances the Netfinity 3500 M10 to address operational issues, add new functions, or expand functions.

Updating the BIOS
- Make note of any settings you have changed in the configuration utility. They may have to be reentered after you update the BIOS.
- Put the "Flash BIOS update diskette" in the A: drive and power-on the system.
- When prompted, select your country and then press Enter.
- The serial number is displayed and you are asked if you would like to update the serial number. If you answer Y, then you are prompted to enter the correct number. If you answer N, then proceed to the next step.
- The machine type/model information is displayed and you are asked if you would like to update the type/model information. If you answer Y, then you are prompted to enter the correct number. If you answer N, then proceed to the next step.
- The current BIOS level on the computer is compared to that on the flash update diskette. If the levels are the same, a message is displayed stating, "The POST/BIOS code in the system is the same version as that on the diskette. Press Enter to continue. Press ESC to cancel." If you receive this message, press ESC to cancel the update. No update is required.
- If the level on the flash diskette is newer than the ROM, a message is displayed stating, "The system POST/BIOS is being updated. This may take up to 2 minutes. Do not power off or restart the system during this procedure." After the update is complete, remove the diskette from the floppy drive and press Enter to reboot the system.
- If the level on the diskette is older than what is already flashed to the system board ROM, a message is displayed stating, "The POST/BIOS in the system is a newer version than that on the diskette. If you continue, the older version will replace the newer version in the system." If you do not want to backlevel your BIOS, press ESC to cancel the update. If you do want to backlevel your BIOS, press Enter. A message is displayed stating, "The system POST/BIOS is being updated. This may take up to 2 minutes. Do not power off or restart the system during this procedure."
- After the update is complete, remove the diskette from the floppy drive and press Enter to reboot the system.
