General information
The IBM 20/40GB (1) 8-mm SCSI Tape Drive is the high-end in the current family of high-performance tape backup products. This tape drive provides a cost-effective, high-reliability tape backup solution for server computer systems.
The IBM 20/40GB (1) 8-mm SCSI Tape Drive features 20GB native capacity and a backup rate of up to 3MB/sec. With the use of hardware-controlled data compression, the drive capacity can be increased to 40GB and the backup rate can be raised as high as 6MB/sec.
The drive uses the 170m AME cartridge from Exabyte, IBM, or Sony.

Compatibility
The 20/40GB 8-mm Tape Drive is compatible with the IBM 16-Bit AT Fast SCSI Adapter (Plug and Play) (P/N 06H9649 FC 2341) in most configurations.
