Abstract
Drive from bay 1, 2 or 3 removal movie for the IBM System x3500.
Content
To remove a Drive from bay 1, 2 or 3:
Remove the Left-side Cover:
- Unlock the side cover and press the cover-release latch down while rotating the top edge of the cover away from the server; then, lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the Bezel :
- Release the three tabs on the left edge of the bezel and rotate the bezel away from the server; then, pull the bezel away from the server.

Remove a Drive from Bay 1, 2 or 3:
- Disconnect the drive power cable, … and signal cable.
- Squeeze the blue tabs on each side of the drive, while pulling the drive out of the bay.
- Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, release the spring retainer and lift the rails from the drive.
