Abstract

Text from the audio portion of the disk backplane installation movie

To install a disk backplane

  1. Position the backplane in the server using the slots on the backplane assembly and the pins on the drive enclosure for alignment.
  2. Press down on the assembly and Rotate it toward the enclosure until it latches in place.
  3. Connect the power and signal cables to the backplane.

    Note: A 3.5 inch backplane is shown.

Install the fan bracket assembly:

  1. Using the guides on the assembly and the slots in the chassis for alignment lower the fan-bracket assembly into the chassis.
  2. Push the fan-bracket-assembly levers toward the rear of the server until they stop then pinch the release latches and metal tabs together and push the levers down into place.
  3. Press down on the metal tabs and the fans to be sure the fan-bracket assembly is fully seated.

Install the top cover:

  1. Position the cover over the chassis, aligning the tabs in the cover with the slots in the chassis.
  2. Slide the cover forward while rotating the cover release latch down to the closed position.

Seat the hard disk drives:

  1. Gently push the hard disk drives back into the bay until seated.
  2. Then rotate the drive tray handle to the closed position.
