Procedures for removing the battery from the xSeries 206 server.

To remove the battery:
- Turn off the server and all attached peripheral devices.
- Disconnect all power cords and all external signal cables.
- For easier access to components, place the server on its side. This is the recommended service position.

Remove the side cover.
- Pull the cover release latch away from the server and slide the cover towards the rear of the server.
- Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
- Remove the support bracket by lifting it up from the rear to a 45-degree position, and disengage the locking tab at the front.
- Press the battery release tab to free the battery from the socket and lift out the battery.
