Instructions for installing a security U-bolt on the xSeries 200

To help prevent hardware theft, you can add a security U-bolt and cable to the server. After you add the security cable, make sure that it does not interfere with other cables that are connected to the server.
To install a U-bolt, complete the following steps:
- Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all external cables and power cords; then, remove the cover.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the two metal knockouts.
- Insert the U-bolt through the rear panel; then, attach and tighten the nuts.
- If you have other options to install or remove, do so now.
- Replace the side cover'.
- Thread the cable through the U-bolt and around an object that is a part of or permanently secured to the building structure or foundation, and from which it cannot be removed; then, fasten the cable ends together with a lock.
- Reconnect the external cables and power cords, and turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
