IBM Support

The 3270 Numeric Lock setting does not limit the keyboard input as stated in the IBM Personal Communications on-line help

Troubleshooting

Problem

When the 3270 Numeric Lock under Edit > Preferences > Display Setup > Viewing is set to YES, numeric fields should only allow numbers 0-9, minus sign, period, comma, and the DUP key. Instead, the IBM Personal Communications will allow the user to enter all the special characters assigned to the shift function of the number keys in addition to the minus sign, period, comma, equal sign and DUP key.
