Troubleshooting

Problem

Cause

There are three known causes of this error:

  1. The PATH environment variable may be too long;
  2. The PATH environment variable does not reference the Rational Test directory (typically found in the Program Files\Rational directory on the local drive on which IBM® Rational® Robot is installed; or
  3. the NUT_SUFFIXED_SEARCHING system variable is missing or its value is incorrect.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this error:

  1. Close any IBM® Rational® software products that are open
  2. Edit the PATH environment variable
    1. Delete duplicate entries or unnecessary paths;
    2. If the PATH environment variable points to the incorrect location of the Rational Test directory, change it to the correction location; and
    3. Move the reference to the Rational Test directory to the beginning of the path
  3. Check if the system variable NUT_SUFFIXED_SEARCHING exists
    1. Create it and set its value to 1 if the variable does not exist;
    2. If it does exist, change its value to 1 if its value is not set to 1
Apply the changes to the environment variables and re-start IBM® Rational® Robot.
