0C4 in DFHPGCH using MRO with CA ACF2

Troubleshooting

Problem

Your CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) region receives an abend0C4 in DFHPGCH when running a mirror transaction during the processing of TRANSFORMER 2. You might also see an 0C4 / AKEA for CAS9578E - Product = J161.

Symptom

Abend 0C4 in DFHPGCH

Cause

You are missing fix TC8960M from CA Technologies for CA ACF2.

Diagnosing The Problem

A review of the CICS dump shows an ABENDS0C4 in DFHPGCH. LOGDATA shows the 0C4 in CAS9578E - Product = J161.

CA ACF2 is using the parameter list from the CICS TRANSFORMER 2 call (expecting it to be fully populated) in order to determine the presence of a channel and channel token XTSCHANT at offset x'88'. CICS is only populating the parameter list as needed, so some non-zero fields should not have been relied upon by CA ACF2.

Resolving The Problem

CA Technologies has a test fix named TC8960M for both CA ACF2 R12 and R14. The ACF2 problem number is 8960. Contact CA Technologies if you need further assistance.
