Choosing the procedure to recover user information

When your system is running normally, you are ready to recover user information.

Your first step in a recovery is to return your system to a normal operating condition, which might require the following tasks:

  • Replace hardware
  • Restore or install the Licensed Internal Code
  • Perform an initial program load (IPL) after the system ends abnormally

After your system is running normally, you can recover user information. Use Table 1 to determine the procedure you should follow. In the table, N/A in a column means that the recovery procedure is the same, whether you respond yes or no.
