Loading the Licensed Internal Code
Use these steps to load the Licensed Internal Code to your system during a recovery.
If you receive an error display:
If you are using an alternate installation device and you receive an error display, it might be due to one of the following conditions:
- You are trying to install from CD-ROM when an alternate installation device is enabled.
- You are trying to use an alternate installation device which is not enabled.
See the Setting up an alternate installation device and the Disabling an alternate installation device topics and perform the appropriate procedure.
Note: You might find that the address information is
not available, or that the system configuration has changed so that
the address information is not correct. If this occurs, you must determine
the address information by a physical inspection of your system configuration.
This inspection can be difficult and might vary depending on your
system model and the specific configuration of your input/output (I/O)
buses. For this reason, IBM® suggests that you call your
next level of support for assistance in determining the addresses
you need for the alternate installation device. A service agreement
might be required for this type of assistance.
