Delete Linux Server (DLTLNXSVR)

The Delete Linux Server (DLTLNXSVR) command deletes the specified Linux network server description and associated objects.

These objects include the network server description (*NWSD), line description (*LIND), TCP/IP interfaces, server storage spaces (*SVRSTG) and system created network server storage spaces.

Note: Network server configurations (*NWSCFG), Network server host adapters (*NWSH) and user created network server storage spaces are not removed by this command.

Restrictions:

  1. You must have input/output system configuration (*IOSYSCFG) and all object (*ALLOBJ) special authority to run this command.
  2. The network server must be varied offline before this command is issued.

Parameters

Network server description (NWSD)

Specifies the name of the network server to delete.

This is a required parameter.

communications-name
Specify the name of the network server description.

The network server name can be up to eight characters.

Examples

Example 1: Delete a Linux Server

DLTLNXSVR   NWSD(MYLINUX)

This command will delete the Linux network server MYLINUX and the associated objects.
