You need to set up TCP/IP before you can
configure e-mail on your system.
If you are setting up e-mail on your system
for the first time, complete the following steps. If you already have
TCP/IP configured on your system, you can proceed directly to Configuring
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and Post Office Protocol (POP)
servers for e-mail.
- In IBM® Navigator
for i, expand .
- Click the Create IP Version 4
Objects and select Local Area Network(LAN)
Interface radio button, then click the OK to open new
Interface wizard. Follow the wizard's instructions to create a new
TCP/IP interface. The wizard asks you to supply the following information:
- Type of connection
- Hardware resource
- Line description
- IP address
- Interfaces to start
- After you are finished with the wizard, expand and click Manage
Host Table
- Click Add. The TCP/IP
Host Table Entry dialog appears.
- Enter the IP address used in the New Interface wizard and
the host name.
- Click OK to close the TCP/IP
Host Table Entry dialog.
- Click OK to close the TCP/IP
Properties dialog.
