Recovering system information

Start of changeYou can customize some system information, such as edit descriptions and network attributes. When you run the Save System (SAVSYS) command this system information is saved. Whenever library QUSRSYS is saved with the Save Library (SAVLIB) or Save Changed Objects (SAVCHGOBJ) functions, the current system information will be retrieved and saved. The system information saved will be the same as that retrieved by the Retrieve System Information (RTVSYSINF) function.End of change

If you have SAVSYS media and need to restore system information, follow the procedure that is described in Restoring the operating system topic. Do an abbreviated installation of the operating system.

Start of changeIf a system needs to be reloaded from distribution media, the system information can be updated by restoring the user information and then running UPDSYSINF LIB(QUSRSYS). End of change
