Preparing to access a system that does not boot

You must meet these prerequisites before attempting to access a system that will not boot from the hard disk.

Confirm the following:

  • Your system cannot be booted from the hard disk.
  • All hardware is installed.
  • AIX® Base Operating System (BOS) is installed.
  • Your system unit is set to Off.
