Virtual desktop infrastructure
The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure consists of several components.

| Connection server | VMware View Composer Use this component to rebalance, recompose, or refresh desktop images regularly. |
Controller for Citrix XenDesktop version
5.5 and 5.6 Delivery Controller for Citrix XenDesktop version 7.0 and 7.1 This component creates and manages virtual desktops for users. |
| Administrative console | VMware View Administrator This component is available on the computer where you installed the VMware View Connection Server. |
Desktop Studio for Citrix XenDesktop version
5.5 and 5.6 Studio for Citrix XenDesktop version 7.0 and 7.1 The console from which Administrators can install, configure, create, manage virtual desktops, and publish applications. |
