Crew availability

You configure crew availability two ways. One is to define the availability factor for crews, which defines the percentage of a day that the crew is available to work. The second way is to modify availability by specifying times that a crew is unavailable, off sick, or working extra time.

You can configure the availability factors for crews by using the Crew Assignment Options action in the Organizations application. You determine crew availability to calculate the time that is available to complete work. For example, an availability factor of .80 means that crews are available for work assignments 80% of the time. The other 20% of time might be used for meetings or administrative work. The availability factor applies to all crews for every day, and not to a specific crew or a specific date and time.

In the Crews application, you modify crew availability for planning purposes using the Modify Availability action. You update when a crew is available so that you can assign work to them. You can modify the work hours of a crew for a specific day, such as adding extra-hours, sickness time, and vacation. For unplanned or emergency work, you can modify availability to add the extra hours to a shift, and then assign the task to the labor or crew.
