Lotus server recovery

This section discusses the methods for recovering individual Lotus® server database files using either the command line interface or the new BRMS System i® Navigator client. For a complete recovery of your system, no special action is required because BRMS automatically includes in the System Recovery Report any Lotus server backups you performed.

Note:
  1. Just performing a backup of your Lotus servers does not protect you in the event a full system recovery is required. You should use BRMS to backup the remainder of your system on a regular basis. Refer to Backing up your entire system, and Recovering your entire system.
  2. The NNDILOCK.NSF file is a Lotus Notes® file used for locking and is automatically created if it does not exist and is therefore never backed up by the SAVDOMBRM command.

You can perform point-in-time recovery of a Lotus server databases saved using online incremental backup. You can perform recovery of these databases using the Restore System Data task provided by the BRMS System i Navigator client. For detailed information about the BRMS System i Navigator client, see Using the BRMS graphical interface.

You can also use the recovery defaults (F9) on the Work with Media Information display to specify a point-in-time as shown on the following panel. Refer to the help on Lotus point-in-time prompt for detailed information about recovery using a point in time.
