Installing TCP/IP
Base TCP/IP support is included with the IBM® i operating system and allows you to connect the system to a network.
If you want to use any TCP/IP applications,
such as Telnet, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and Simple Mail Transfer
Protocol (SMTP), you also need to install IBM TCP/IP
Connectivity Utilities for i. TCP/IP
Utilities is a separately installable licensed program.
To install TCP/IP Utilities on your system, follow these steps:

that you might want to install include:
- IBM HTTP Server for i (5770-DG1): This program provides Web server support.
- Some TCP/IP applications require installation of additional licensed programs. To find out which programs you need, review the setup instructions for the specific application you want.
