Viewing historical data with Graph History

Use the Graph History task in IBM® Navigator for i to view historical performance data.

The Graph History task is included in IBM Navigator for i and is used to display the historical performance data collection created by Collection Services. To view the historical performance data, follow these steps:
  1. Select Performance > Graph History from your IBM Navigator for i window. An initial chart is displayed based on the default settings.
  2. Select what you want to display by changing the fields in the context pane.
  3. Click Refresh to display the graph.

After you launch Graph History, the chart displays a series of graphed collection points. These collection points on the graph line are identified by two different graphics that correspond to the two levels of data:

  • A square collection point represents a data point where detail data is available for displaying the top contributors and properties information.
  • A circular collection point represents a data point where only summary data is available, so no top contributors or properties information can be shown.

To view the top contributors of a particular data point, select a square data point to display the Top Contributors chart. To view the properties of one of the top contributors, select the bar next to a top contributor to display the Properties pane for that top contributor.
