Simple Network Time Protocol
Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) is a time-maintenance application that you can use to synchronize hardware in a network.
You can use the IBM® i operating system as an SNTP server, an SNTP client, or both. You can specify the amount of time that clients can vary from the time that is provided by a time server and allow for adjustments to keep the clocks synchronized. This function is particularly important in the use of network authentication service.
SNTP is a tool that you can use as part of your time management strategy.
