IBM Spectrum Scale cache usage

Spectrum Scale maintains a number of cache segments on each node in the cluster.

The behavior of cache usage is controlled by the following three Spectrum Scale 4.2 parameters:
  • maxFilesToCache (default 4000)
  • pagepool size (default 1 GiB)
  • maxStatCache (default 1000)
These parameter defaults are set at cluster creation time, but can be changed with the Spectrum Scale mmchconfig command.
Note: Spectrum Scale does not use the Linux® page cache!
