Managing BMC-based systems

IBM® Power Systems™ servers that run the Linux operating system and implement the baseboard management controller (BMC) provide management functions by using the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) and open community software, including the OpenIPMI driver and IPMItool that support IPMI on Linux.
