Upgrade on Linux nodes

Use these tables to access documentation for IBM Spectrum Scale upgrade on Linux nodes.

Note: The list of topics in the following table for upgrade on Linux nodes is not exhaustive. The high-level process of upgrade is included here with corresponding links to respective documentation topics. For detailed information, see Upgrading.

 2  Review the planning considerations for IBM Spectrum Scale including protocols.

 3  Review the hardware requirements, software requirements, and additional prerequisites including those for protocols.

 1  Understand the available upgrade options and supported upgrade paths, and choose one of the two upgrade options.

 2  Review considerations for upgrade including coexistence considerations and compatibility considerations.

 Recommended  If you are using the installation toolkit for the upgrade, run the upgrade precheck procedure.

Important: It is highly recommended to run the upgrade precheck procedure when you are preparing for upgrade. This allows you adequate time to address any issues that are flagged in the upgrade precheck.

 2  Upgrade protocols.

 8  Complete the upgrade.
