IBM InfoSphere Information Services Director help

You can access help while you perform tasks with the IBM® InfoSphere® Information Services Director features in the InfoSphere Information Server console. When you press the F1 key or click the Help icon in the console, the topic that is relevant to your location opens in the IBM InfoSphere Information Server information center.

The following topics are interface reference for the IBM InfoSphere Information Server console:

Application pane: Use this pane to create or edit applications and the services, bindings, operations, and information providers that comprise the applications.
Default Settings pane: Use this pane to select preferences for load balancing and request queueing.
Deployed Applications pane: Use this pane to view and edit the description and contact information for deployed applications and services. For operations, you can edit runtime settings and add or edit information providers.
Deployment Details pane: Use this pane to add, remove, edit, enable, or disable information providers. An information provider is the source of your operation.
Information Services Application workspace: Use this workspace to create, edit, deploy, disable, or delete applications. You also can export an application to save its settings, and then import it as a new application.
Information Services Connection pane: Use this pane to create and edit connections. You can also click Save to enable a connection after creating or editing it.
Information Services Connections workspace: Use this workspace to create, edit, enable, disable, or delete connections. Connections give you access to information providers.
Manage Providers pane: Use this pane to remove information providers or edit information provider settings before you deploy the application. Select 01. Select Service Objects to select the services, bindings, and operations to include in a deployment, or click Deploy to deploy the application.
Select an Information Provider window: Select an information provider type and the specific unit of information that you want to use from an information provider. For example, if the information provider type is DataStage and QualityStage, select an IBM InfoSphere DataStage® job for the service.
Select Service Objects pane: All services, bindings, and operations in the application are selected for deployment by default. You can use this pane to deselect some of them for deployment. You must include at least one service to deploy an application; each of those services must include at least one binding and one operation. Select 02. Manage Providers to view, add, or edit information providers, or click Deploy to deploy the application.
Service Bindings pane: Use this pane to attach and remove bindings to the service. The method that you choose to access the service determines the binding that you choose.
Service Operation pane: Use this pane to name and describe an operation and view the signature.
Service Overview pane: Use this pane to provide information associated with the service: a name and optional description for the service, the base package name and home page for deployment, and primary contact name and e-mail. In addition, you can add an authentication or confidentiality requirement to the service by selecting one or both of the Security check boxes.
Text over JMS Settings pane: Use this pane to configure the Text over JMS service binding.
